What is the Budget Board?
The budget board is where you will create and apply organization to your budget items. You will use the organizational structure that was created in the Manage Tag Groups section to build out different budget views. You can add budget items directly into the Tags while creating the budget items or create the budget items without tags and then apply them later using drag and drop tools. Our system allows you to input budget items once and apply it to multiple organizational structures, by the use of applying multiple tags to a single budget item. This alleviates the risk of copying the wrong number in a cell, or even forgetting to copy a cell in a spreadsheet from one sheet to another when building out your different views. You can apply a Tag per Tag Group to a single budget item essentially making that one budget item live in each board.
Budget Board Basics
Navigate to the Budget Board
- Navigate to the Budget Dashboard for your event.
- Click on the 2nd tab labeled Budget Board.
By default, the Functional Area tag group will be selected when you navigate to the budget board. You can quickly change between groups by using the Tag Group dropdown that is outlined in red on the screenshot below.
Each Tag Group essentially has its own board. Each board will contain an Unorganized Items Card (highlighted in purple) as well as up to 5 active tag cards for the selected Tag Group (highlighted in orange). You can change the selection of active tags by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page (outlined in green).
The unorganized column will contain all the budget items that have been entered in the event but have not been applied to a tag in the current tag group. You can drag and drop from this unorganized column into a tag card to apply that tag to the item.
The tag card contains a listing for each budget item that have been applied to that tag. The listing contains the Budget Item Name, Quantity, and Grand Total for that item. Each item also has a gear to the side of the total. This gear allows you to edit or delete such item. Each tag card has a grand total listed at the bottom of the card. There is also a plus button located on each tag card in the upper right-hand corner of the card, it is used to add budget items and automatically apply to the tag from which it was generated.
