Note: Certain changes to a task can only be perform by the user that created the task. Changes that are restricted to the owner of the task include changes to name, description, assignees and the due date. In addition, only the task owner can delete the task from the task list.However, any user that has been assigned the task can access the logs, add log entries, and change the status of the task.
There are three ways a user can edit properties of a task.
- From the Tasks Module list: The task list view includes fields such as: task name, description, assignee, status, due date, and last updated date. From this view a user can quickly change a status of a task. Click on the status field for the task you want to change and select a new status from the dropdown.
If you are the owner of the task you can also edit all the task properties from a pop up by clicking on the pencil button that appears when hovered over a task. Insert Image.
- From the Task detail page: To access the task detail page, click on the name of the task in the task list, this will take you to the detail page showing the logs and all of the associated information for the task. Look in the properties section on the right of the log. Click on the pencil icon next to the current status and select the new status, then click the green check mark to save the change.
- Using the Bulk Edit tool: Use the bulk edit tool to change the properties of many task items at one time. Select multiple task items by clicking on the check box that appears when you hover the mouse over the number of the task in the first column. After you have selected the desired tasks to bulk edit, click on the actions drop down button in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Select the bulk edit from the drop down. Chose the desired changes to the tasks and click the green check mark to save the change.
