A Project acts as a flexible bin that grows and shrinks to encapsulate the child activities added into the project. To create a project start by clicking on the blue plus button at the top of the Gantt Chart window.
A new activity popup will appear, change the activity type to Project and fill in the required information.
Once you have created a Project bin, you must create child activity(ies) for the project to populate a duration. To create a child activity, click on the blue plus on the project line in the Gantt Chart.
A new activity popup will appear. You can make these child activities Project, Task, or Milestone(s). Notice the Functional Area is not able to be edited and automatically selected as the same Functional Area as the Parent Project. However, you can still change/add assignees of the new activity.
The Project will continue to grow to encapsulate all of the child activities as this screen shot reveals.
